Saving Gaia “Your Gaia Campaign” Contest 2009 Terms & Conditions
  1.

The Saving Gaia “Your Gaia Campaign” contest 2009 is open to all residents in Asia (excluding Australia). Anyone can submit an entry, except employees of MediaCorp Pte Ltd, and their immediate families.

For participants under 21 years and below, parental or school consent must first be obtained. The submission of entries shall be deemed and construed as acceptance and agreement by the participants to be bound by these rules and regulations.

  3. Each submission must relate to the contest theme of Saving Gaia. The campaign must not include commercial products. Each applicant is eligible to submit only 1 campaign each in the following media platforms.
  • Television commercial
  • Radio commercial
  • Print advertisement
  4. Submission parameters:
  • Video: File must be in WMV/MP4 format less than 5mb
  • Radio: MP3 audio less than 5mb
  • Print ad: JPEG image max 100kb
Submissions must be made via an online entry form available at http://www.savinggaia.sg. All fields are mandatory. MediaCorp Pte Ltd reserves the right to reject entries with incomplete details. The submission deadline is 12 midnight, 31 August 2009.
  5. Submissions that have previously won prizes in other competitions are not allowed to be submitted for this contest.
  6. For shortlisted entries, the original negative, slide or digital files (consisting of both the touched up and the original untouched image) must be submitted for verification upon request, failing which, the entries may be disqualified.
  7. By submitting an entry, each participant warrants to MediaCorp Pte Ltd that all entries submitted are original works and that any use of such entries by MediaCorp Pte Ltd will not infringe any third party rights. Each participant warrants that it has obtained the consent of all persons featured in its entries. MediaCorp Pte Ltd reserves the right to require the participant to provide proof of the above, failing which the participant may be disqualified. Each participant shall indemnify MediaCorp Pte Ltd, its related/affiliated companies and their respective officers, employees and agents against any claims, liabilities, damages, loss or expenses (including legal expenses on a full indemnity basis) resulting from any breach of the above.
  8. MediaCorp Pte Ltd reserves the right to reject and disqualify any entries which it deems in its sole discretion to be obscene, offensive, lewd or otherwise inappropriate.
  9. The images shall be selected by a panel of judges and their decision is final. No appeals or correspondence will be entertained.
  10. Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, relevance to the subject matters categories, and photographic techniques. Shortlisted participants may be required to attend an interview and/or a photo-shoot for final assessment.
  11. Only one (1) winning entry, per category, will be selected and broadcasted on MediaCorp platforms: TV / Radio / Today. Frequency & number of insertions will be determined by MediaCorp.
  12. The judging panel reserves the right not to award the prizes if the entries submitted do not meet the required standards.
  13. Each participant agrees that MediaCorp Pte Ltd may reproduce, broadcast, distribute, edit and otherwise use the entry for publication, publicity, exhibition, commercial or any other purposes as it deems appropriate, without compensation. Relevant credit will be given to the participant.
  14. While MediaCorp Pte Ltd will exercise due care during the collection, selection and storage of images, it shall not be held liable for any loss, theft or destruction of the images.
  15. Results of the contest will be posted on www.savinggaia.sg. Winning entries broadcasted over MediaCorp media platforms. Winners will also be notified by email.
  16. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash
  17. MediaCorp Pte Ltd shall have the final right and discretion to decide on all matters relating to this contest and prizes for the contest. MediaCorp Pte Ltd reserves the right to amend any of these rules and regulations without prior notice.
